North Yorkshire has been home to us for a little under a year and one of the first places we visited was Bolton Abbey. The first time we stepped through the gate, a spell was cast and now we can never go more than a month or so before being drawn back – I am assuming this is because the place is amazing rather than us being unimaginative in our days out!
Officially, I have been a Stay At Home Mum for a little under a year. Unfortunately, I missed all the induction days for this role, am still patiently waiting for my contract and most importantly, was never given the phone number required for calling in sick.
The thing I love the most about becoming a mummy – obviously excluding the kisses, cuddles and I love yous – is that just when I thought I knew who I was, along came this 7lbs 4oz of pure adorableness to show me how little I did in fact know about myself, or anything else for that matter.
As a busy family, we really value our days out together. Sometimes we get sucked into thinking we need to spend a fortune to make these days special but recently I have begun to see that often the reverse that is true.
